About
Welcome to Rooster's Barn & Grill, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Rochester, Minnesota. This welcoming sports bar invites you in with its lively atmosphere and homey charm. Located at 2280 Superior Dr NW, it's a place where locals gather to unwind, enjoy hearty food, and catch up with friends over a cold drink.
One of the standout features of Rooster's is its friendly staff. Bartenders Stan and Laura, along with Nicole, are known for their exceptional service, ensuring you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. As Mitch Haukos mentions, they have a gift for making customers feel cared for, turning simple visits into memorable experiences.
The menu is filled with mouthwatering options that cater to every appetite. From the famously GIANT pretzel to expertly cooked broasted chicken, there's something for everyone. Arleen Smith reminisced about their broasted chicken, highlighting its perfect seasoning and nostalgic touch. The country fried steak also receives high praise, but be mindful of the Minnesota twist—it’s actually chicken! Meanwhile, Alex Mayer enjoys the breakfast Eggs Benedict and the Club Melt, which he recommends pairing with one of their delicious soups.
Rooster's Barn & Grill excels in providing a laid-back dining experience without sacrificing quality. The fried goodies, especially the onion rings and fries, have garnered rave reviews for their flavor and crispiness, making them a must-try during your visit. Britney Johnson couldn't help but marvel at how affordable yet satisfying the meals are, firmly establishing their reputation as a place where you get great value for your money.
Whether you’re a pool enthusiast or simply looking for a friendly place to enjoy good food and company, Rooster's Barn & Grill is a top choice in Rochester. With a fast-paced kitchen and an enticing menu, it's no wonder that a third location is on the horizon! So grab your friends, kick back, and let the Rooster's crew take care of you—you won’t regret it.
“ What a great small town sports bar atmosphere. Stan and Laura are wonderful bartenders! Friendly and like to take care of their customers. Had the GIANT pretzel very big, very good. Their onion rings are tasty as well. Gotta try the rooster sauce. Lil horsey kick, but delicious. Had the broasted chicken last time, not over seasoned, but really good flavor. ”
“ Refreshing beer AND free popcorn - Whaaat??!! Haven’t had broasted chicken for many years...This is the place to order some cuz it’s cooked perfectly and was delicious! Country fried steak was good too. Just be advised, MN style is actually chicken, not beef. The best part was customer service by Nicole-she was absolutely terrific and made us feel like extra special customers! ”
“ One of my favorite bar and grills on the NW side of Rochester. I’ll often swing in late at night for a Goliath or a few Ultras to wind down the day. In the mornings I’m big on the Eggs Benedict and in the afternoon the Club Melt - I recommend getting it with one of the soups. Great place if you are a pool player as well. Definitely a locals favorite. ”
“ Good atmosphere (dive bar), and food came out pretty fast! They have a lot of good food choices on thier menue and accommodations were plenty for us! I had the chicken tender basket... I would recommend getting something else as you only get there small chicken tenders, but all the food looked really good! And they're going to open up a third location soon! ”
“ Cheap food that is really good. Fries are amazing best I've ever had. 10/10 would go back every meal is around 15 and is good sized. ”
“ Stopped by this bar after 8:30 pm, and the vibes were on point. Great atmosphere, solid drinks, and a crowd that knew how to have a good time. One of the best parts? The ability to put music on queue—such a cool touch that made the night feel even more personal. Whether you’re looking to unwind or turn up, this spot has the perfect balance. Definitely worth checking out! ”
“ Stopped for lunch after a Costco run. Very nice location near the theater and a couple business parks. It was a hot, sunny day outside just after 1pm. Took my eyes more then a few minutes to adjust to the dark. The restaurant was however well air conditioned. Server was very quick and responsive. She brought water for us with menus. Took additional drink orders while we looked over menu. She was helpful to answer questions on how things were prepared. I ordered the b roasted chicken (dark meat). She let me know immediately the food would be delayed as another guest just ordered the chicken and they only have one at a time. I wasn’t sure how long it would take, but it was 30 minutes. We thought about leaving as we were hungry and it was well after 1:40pm at this time. The waitress was very attentive and did give up frequent updates on the food. The chicken was very good. Cooked perfectly. I would definitely get this dish again, if I don’t have to wait 30 minutes. Typical sports bar atmosphere. Food was served hot and as ordered. Bottomless water glasses were very appreciated on the hot summer day we were there. Overall 9/10. They have a dedicated Parking lot. Restaurant is handicapped accessible. Large menu selection at lunch. Reasonably priced. Restrooms clean and stocked. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable. ”
“ Great food! Service was amazing, and very affordable ”
